David La Rooy (B.A., M.Sc., Ph.D.)        NEW: Professional Development for Child Forensic Interviews here

david@larooy.net

I received my Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Otago (NZ) in 2003 studying children's memory. During a 2-year Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NIH) I received training in the NICHD interviewing protocol and in the assessment of the quality of forensic interviews with children.  I currently hold a research lectureship funded by the Scottish Institute for Policing Research (SIPR) based at the University of Abertay Dundee and I am responsible for the Forensic Psychobiology Degree.

My research focuses on forensic interviews with children and guidelines for interviewers.  (Updated June, 2010).
