About David La Rooy: I received my B.A., M.Sc., and Ph.D degrees from the University of Otago in New Zealand. After completing my M.Sc., I worked as a researcher for a Cognitive Psychology Laboratory, ADHD Research Group, and a Children’s Memory Research Group. I completed my Ph.D. investigating how children remember their experiences in 2003, and then took up a Post Doctoral Research Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Maryland, USA in 2004. I have received specialist training on child forensic interviewing, as well as training in the assessment of the quality of investigative interviews conducted with children alleging abuse. I am a Chartered Psychologist, Chartered Scientist, and Associate Fellow of my professional governing body, the British Psychology Society. I was awarded a Scottish Institute for Policing Research Lectureship in 2008 and conduct research related to investigative interviewing.
